薬師如来や日光・月光菩薩を信仰する人々を守る１２人の武将の神の一人。病気や怪我で苦しんでいる人々を助ける。薬師如来の十二の大願に応じて、十二の方角を守っており、干支の守護神としても信仰されている。奈良、新薬師寺の立像をはじめ、全国の寺社に奉られている。

Indara is one of the 12 warriors of God who protects people against Illness and injury. It is also believed  the guardian of the zodiac.
